Dublin is hosting ICES Annual Scientific Conference 2022 and the eMPS NBSR project is glad to be part of it and present Communities of Practice and Scientific Advice in Marine Spatial Planning
Group of the eMSP NBSR project partners represented by Andrea Morf will participate in the poster session on Tuesday evening (20 September, 17:30-19:30 GMT), give flash presentation and join the discussion in Theme session F Ocean futures: engaging science and society in visions of the future on Wednesday (21 September, 11:00-12:00 and 15:30 – 17:30 GMT).
The poster titled Linking communities of practice and science advice in Marine Spatial Planning – first lessons from collaborative learning across the North and Baltic Sea Regions is sharing insights from our first working year in the eMSP NBSR project which stands for Emerging ecosystem-based Maritime Spatial Planning topics in North and Baltic Sea Regions.
How can a Communities of Practice (CoP) approach promote collaborative learning in marine spatial planning across sea basins and different institutional contexts?
What are the prerequisites, enablers and challenges to apply it?
We already know from our experience that Community of Practice WORKS – but requires work from all involved to create an open and safe space to meet on equal terms, collaborate, share and explore together what to do about our common complicated issues together. Capacity, good and structured facilitation are important – and of course sufficient time to work on shared problems and topics.
If you participate in ICES Annual Scientific Conference 2022 join and hear more, meanwhile please take a look on the poster and get to know great group of our authors and contributors HERE
